Week 2 - Hand Drawn Sketches

These are my 3d sketches for each principle. I started out thinking they needed to be seperate from the textures but then realised I could use the textures as inspiration for the 3d sketches, so I did.
-
Initial Contrast Sketch - I stopped this sketch because I decided it was getting too complex.
(File Size: 252kb- 1754x2482)

The next Contrast sketch.
(File Size: 261kb- 1754x2482)

My initial Hierarchy sketch. This was more of a doodle; it was also too small.
(File Size: 264kb- 1754x2482)

At this point I took inspiration from my texture and drew it from a different angle, making the triangles in the texture curved in 3d.
(File Size: 290kb- 1754x2482)

Moving onto symmetry now. This one is quite complex in pencil form. It also, upon reflection, only has one axis of symmetry too.
(File Size: 278kb- 1754x2482)

Figure Ground. This sketch drew heavy inspiration from my figure ground texture.
(File Size: 558kb- 1754x2482)

Rhythm/Repetition. In this 3d sketch i focused on a repeating element and used this to attempt to create rhythm. The darker areas are supposed to be shadows.
(File Size: 506kb- 1754x2482)

I drew inspiration from my textures again, Datum this time. I sketched it so that all parts of the model taper to a point.
(File Size: 320kb- 1754x2482)

This is a really quite rough draft of proportion/composition.
(File Size: 280kb- 1754x2482)

Proportion/Composition. I used various forms of semi-circles to try to showcase proportion here, and the composition in 3d is supposed to look like one of the textures in 3d when you look at it from the left side.(The middle sketch here)
(File Size: 431kb- 1754x2482)
